In this surrealist piece I have contrasted not only the ghost of a landscape with the reality of colour but also the laws of physics with the courage of imagination.
This painting is done as a tribute to the Surrealist Style of Salvador Dali, but with a few of my own personal twists. I liked painting the combination of opposites - warm colours with cool colours, soft flowing curves, contrasting with more hard edged and sharper images. I enjoyed working with the perception of distance using the disappearing horizon. I also found combining a variety of subjects not usually found (together) stimulates the mind.
Interface (A point where interaction occurs between two systems—processes) The motivation behind this picture came from the possibility of the impeding rise in the sea level and it’s effect on both the works of man and also the ancient land .In the scene, the incoming tide (which represents the future) washes around the base of the figure of Uenuku (which is representative of the primordial world).
