'Interface'
( 510 x 1020 )
Interface (A point
where interaction occurs between two systems—processes) The
motivation behind this picture came from the possibility of the
impeding rise in the sea level and it’s effect on both the works
of man and also the ancient land .In the scene, the incoming tide
(which represents the future) washes around the base of the
figure of Uenuku (which is representative of the primordial
world). The present is the area of conflict - the shoreline. All
of this is presided over by the ambiguously shaped and time
sculptured curves of the hills and brooding sky. The underlying
idea is that permanence is really a matter of degree. Change
happens at the interface between past and future, sea and land,
human cause and effect.
